Heritage Galvanised Z600 & Barrel Rolled Roofing Experts

At My Slate Roofing, we pride ourselves on being the leading experts in Heritage Galvanised Z600 & Barrel Rolled roofing. With decades of experience in the roofing industry, we understand the unique requirements and aesthetic value of heritage buildings. Our skilled team is dedicated to delivering high-quality roofing solutions that combine traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques.

Heritage Galvanised Z600 roofing is known for its superior corrosion resistance and long-lasting durability. The Z600 designation refers to the 600 grams of zinc coating per square metre, which offers exceptional protection against rust and weathering. This double-coated zinc layer is applied through a hot-dip galvanising process, ensuring a robust and resilient finish that can withstand Australia’s harsh climatic conditions.

The original shiny, spangled surface of the Z600 galvanised steel gradually develops a protective patina over time, enhancing its weather resistance and adding to its historical charm. This makes it an ideal choice for both heritage restorations and new constructions aiming to capture a classic aesthetic.

Heritage Barrel Rolled roofing is renowned for its authentic, deep corrugations that harken back to the early 20th century. Using our meticulously restored 75-year-old barrel press, we create corrugations that modern roll-forming equipment simply cannot replicate. This process results in a distinctive roofing style that adds timeless elegance and character to any building, making it perfect for heritage restorations and new constructions seeking a classic appearance.

The barrel rolling process involves passing steel through rollers to achieve the desired texture and shape, producing a durable and visually appealing finish. Although the process itself does not provide inherent corrosion resistance, combining it with Heritage Galvanised Z600 enhances the roofing’s overall durability and protection against the elements. This combination ensures that your roof not only looks stunning but also stands the test of time.

Whether you’re looking to restore a historic property or add a touch of heritage to a new build, our team is here to help. We offer a comprehensive range of services tailored to meet your specific needs.

Exceptional Durability and Longevity

Reviving History at Bunnamagoo Homestead

At My Slate Roofing, we take pride in our expertise in Heritage Galvanised Z600 & Barrel Rolled roofing, as demonstrated in our recent project at the historic Bunnamagoo Homestead. Located near Rockley in the Central Ranges of New South Wales, the Bunnamagoo Estate is a significant heritage site, with a history dating back to 1827 when it was established by Thomas Pye, a pardoned convict.

The homestead, originally constructed from locally quarried soapstone, had suffered from years of neglect and unsympathetic alterations. By the time the Paspaley family acquired the property in 1992, the once magnificent structure had fallen into severe disrepair. The rudimentary mortar binding the stones had deteriorated due to harsh weather conditions, threatening the building’s structural integrity.

Our team was commissioned to restore the roofing of this iconic homestead, ensuring both historical accuracy and modern durability. We utilised Heritage Galvanised Z600 & Barrel Rolled roofing to achieve this goal. The Z600 galvanised steel provided the necessary corrosion resistance, while the Barrel Rolled process recreated the deep, authentic corrugations characteristic of the period.

The result was a stunning, historically accurate roof that not only enhanced the building’s appearance but also offered robust protection against the elements.

This project highlights our commitment to preserving historical integrity while providing state-of-the-art roofing solutions. The Bunnamagoo Homestead now stands as a testament to the effectiveness of Heritage Galvanised Z600 & Barrel Rolled roofing, showcasing the perfect blend of tradition and innovation.

Simon & team did an exceptional job perfectly installing my slate roof. We couldnt be happier
Simon and the team at My Slate Roofing completed cedar shingles replacement and new copper features to our Arts and Crafts period house. They were competitively priced, knew everything there was to know about the products, worked fast and efficiently and delivered a fantastic quality outcome. We’ve already asked them to come back after our reno to do more!
Simon and his crew were wonderful people. Always on time and respectful of our property. They worked through rain hail or shine on a very difficult multi-faceted wall with bay windows, all mitered cuts. The wall had previously been cladded in ceder some 40 years ago and now has a Spanish slate that has people walking past and stopping to see the beautiful transformation.Well done, Simon.Would recommend Simon to anyone wanting a professional job done.
Simon and his team did a great job. Lots of photos and videos on initial drone inspection and then an excellent job with great communication

Simon and the team at My Slate roofing were simply fantastic. Our old slate roof started leaking during the heavy Sydney rain in early 2021. They proved to have exceptional craftmanship and delivered the project on time and budget and showed great care for what they do.Highly recommend their service.
Wow. What an amazing transformation to the semi. The slate roof to the semi was in dire need of repairs. We called several roof repair companies in Sydney. Many did not bothered to turn up after confirming time. Some quoted rediculous prices due to their busy workload. Simon advised that his team was fully booked out for a few months however could make temporary repairs in the mean time until he could replace the entire roof. From initial quotation, to tile selection, and install, everything was performed professionally, on time and on budget. Nothing was too much trouble for My Slate Roofing. He took pride in his work and even painted the gable at no charge because it was run down. Thank you Simon and team for the incredible job you did.
I called a few people and Simon responded. That's a tick straight away. Simon was able to provide a number of options and the time frame. He was responsive and a very good builder especially when it comes to heritage properties. After the work was completed he called to checked there were no further issues. Would recommend anytime.
Simon was the epitome of professional throughout our roof install. He showed up every time on time and gave us options to help stay within our budget. His team was courteous and tidy and the new roof looks great. He even installed his scaffolding a few days early so we could use it to perform separate repairs to the house. I cannot recommend highly enough.
Simon and his team were professional and courteous every step of the way. It was a huge job repairing our entire slate roof, but they carried it out with minimal fuss and low intrusion. The craftsmanship is absolutely outstanding and we are extremely happy with the new roof. Thanks Simon and team. Much appreciated.
Simon & his team, have been incredibly professional & friendly from beginning to end. Simon’s love of his work, is more a passion of Art. His knowledge & expertise, undeniable. We have enjoyed having this fine group of people working on our property, & are over the top with the finished product. Our property had some very tricky aspects, due the the age & design of residence, which Simon & his team took in their stride. Nothing was an issue or a problem. Our project encompassed re-roofing the house in Colourbond, a massive Porte cochère re-roofed with cliplock plus a small garden studio re-roofed in Colourbond. We highly recommend My Slate Roofing Sydney.
