In Sydney, installing lead flashing around roof openings is essential to guarantee a completely watertight roof. The Benefits of Lead Roof Flashing

Lead linings and flashings might help protect your home from the elements for more than a century with no maintenance if you choose a Sydney lead roofing provider that promises a faultless installation. We can also install flashing in hard-to-reach spots, tight configurations, around gutters, and other areas since we can construct lead sheets to fit any need. This ensures that your roof is completely waterproof.

In addition to its durability and aesthetic appeal, lead is an exceptional roofing material because:

  • Lead is 100% recyclable, and most modern lead flashings in Sydney have been manufactured using recycled materials. Believe it or not, lead has the lowest carbon footprint of all hard metals.
  • Lead can improve the appearance of both modern and heritage buildings.
  • Lead flashings can be installed on any roof including stone, slate, and tile roofs.

Why should you go with MY SLATE ROOFING?

Because when you work with us, you’ll benefit from our years of experience supplying and installing lead roofs, gutters, and rainwater management systems. We understand how to utilize lead in roofing and rainwater management system repair, especially when it comes to historical restoration.

1. Why are Lead Flashings used?

Lead flashings are sheets of lead (occasionally copper or aluminum) that are used to prevent water from penetrating your roof at connections such as chimneys, vent pipes, roof-to-wall walls, and window and door openings. It should be constructed to allow for expansion and contraction and should not discolor or react with any touching materials (chemically).

2. What is the maximum lead flashing length?

The length of a lead sheet for lead flashing should not exceed 1.5 meters. If the lead is reduced any farther, expansion and contraction may cause the lead work to split. When installing flashings, make sure they overlap by at least 100mm.

3. When is it necessary to replace lead flashing in Sydney?

The lead flashing in Sydney will survive for 100 years if this expansion and contraction are allowed to happen naturally. Splits and cracks occur when lead flashings are fastened in place for one reason or another.
